Notes on Cloth& Cut

Four short chapters on how a VALÉOR garment comes to be: the cloth we choose, the line we cut, the journeys it is made for, and the hands that see it to your door.

Chapter I.The Cloth

Everything begins with the cloth. We choose it by hand and by weight: dense wool-cashmere for outerwear that holds its line against the wind, fine-gauge cashmere that warms without bulk, gabardine that falls cleanly and moves when you do.

Good cloth asks for very little: a brush after wearing, a day of rest between wears, a press through linen. In return it keeps its colour, its drape and its character for years.

Chapter II.The Cut

A silhouette is decided long before the first cut: where the shoulder ends, how a lapel rolls, how much room a trouser keeps through the knee. We favour proportions that look composed at rest and easy in motion.

Every piece carries its own fit notes, so you know how it is intended to sit, and whether to take your usual size.

Generous where ease matters. Close where line matters.

Chapter III.The Journey

Our garments are made to travel well: a coat that folds into the overhead locker and arrives without complaint, a knit that rolls rather than creases, a silk shirt that packs flat for the evening.

And for the journey itself, a structured weekender in vegetable-tanned calfskin, hand-stitched at the edges, that deepens in colour with every trip.
